Happy Birthday Jennie!!

Today is my good friend Jennie Moczan's birthday!!! :D Woohoo!! :D She is one of the most generous, sweet people I know! She's always helpful and gives all she's got and she's a wonderful listener and encourager too!! :D

Her favorite A Muse stamps are the Gerber Daisy and the ToGo Cup so I tried to figure out a way to combine the 2 stamps on one card for her. This is what I came up with:

All stamps, papers and ribbon by A Muse, Palette Hybrid ink and Copic markers also used.

HAPPY BIRTHDAY JENNIE!!! May your day be blessed!!

Hugs,

Summer Swap

Hey there!

Here's a swap card I made this past month:

It was a Summer themed swap, could be anything Summer related we wanted to do. Since I hadn't used my Fishing Trip car stamp yet, I thought I'd ink it up!! :D

Lots of stamps on this one: 3 Trees, waves, Daisy Doodle, Fishing Trip, Chinese Proverb, Fancy Borders clear set, Skinny Oval, Mini Oval. Palette Hybrid Noir ink, Whisper White, Going Gray, Ice Blue Colorbox chalk ink, Certainly Celery, Summer Sun, Pumpkin Pie, Copics. SU Keytag punch, dimensionals, silver brads, Stickles (Yellow, Lime Green and Stardust).

I hope you're all enjoying your week!! I'll probably be laying low on posts for the next couple weeks. I have a couple things I'll be sharing, but I'm getting ready to head to Nicaragua after The 4th. So things are kinda crazy here, getting ready.

Hugs!

Ode to Teen Wolf

If everybody had an o-cean, across the USA, then everybody'd be surfin, like Californ-i-a.....

This is another Out of the Box challenge card for A-muse-a-palooza. Obviously inspired by the Teen Wolf movie from the 80's. Not sure how it got in my head though, cuz I haven't watched it in years!!!

I used my Petal Point Ice Blue chalk ink dragged across the notecard to create the sky. I love that technique, I've been using it on a few cards lately. All image stamps are by A Muse, the "surfin" was made with Snap Stamps and the "USA" was made with my Provo Craft dial stamp.

Thanks for stopping by today!! :D

Teacher Notecards

Today is technically the last day of school for my kids, but I let them play hookie!! :D We went to a Mariners game last night (to watch them LOSE) and didn't get home until about 11:30 so I thought I'd let them sleep in today. It's a half day anyway and they said most of their good bye's yesterday.

When I saw Jennie's cute notecard sets for Teacher Appreciation week, I knew immediately I'd be making some for my kids' teachers! They're so cute and so simple!! Such a great idea!

Supplies used:
Image stamps by A Muse, Karen Foster Snap Stamps, MS scallop border punch, A Muse ribbon, PTI clear gift boxes, Ruby Red, Pretty in Pink and white cardstock, Palette Hybrid Noir Ink, Garden green and Close to Cocoa ink, Copic Markers

Woohoo! School's out for Summer!!

Cool Day

Here's another card for Elena's Out of the Box A-muse-a-palooza challenge.

An Igloo boat! I wish I had the cute little Pineapple stamp from A Muse so I could have the bear holding a pineapple drink and basking in the sun, guess I'll just have to pick it up next time!! :D I masked the "fan-tastic" from the Fan-tastic day stamp and added "cool" from the You're Cool stamp to create the sentiment.

All papers, stamps and ribbon used on this card are from A Muse. Versafine ink, Frost Blue Copic Marker, Marvy Mega scallop oval punch, dimensionals, DD Glitter and Quickie gluepen also used.

Make it in the hay while the sun shines....

Is that how the saying goes??? My bad! :D I made this card for the "Out of the Box" A-muse-a-palooza challenge posted by Elena. I've had this idea floating around in my head for awhile and decided this was the perfect opportunity to finally do it.

Pretty straight forward card, I masked the Kissing Couple before stamping the Hay Wagon and masked the wagon before stamping the Skinny Oval. The hay bg is made by dragging my Color Box Petal Point Yellow Cadmium chalk ink across the Cabana Blue Band notecard until the white part was all filled in, then I stamped the Grass stamp using the same color ink to create the look of hay. The skirt was colored with a Lipstick Red Copic marker then I drew the plaid lines using a white Signo gel pen.

These A-muse-a-palooza challenges are just what I needed right now to get inspired and start stamping again!

Manly cards

Hi!

Did you all have a fun weekend, celebrating Father's Day?? I had a great weekend, went to work on Saturday and met VICTORIA a super sweet lady, an A Muse fan, an instant friend, and an overall inspirational person!!! We could've chatted for hours!!! :D Then I went camping up North in the Mountains at Lake Kachess, a beautiful place, to celebrate Father's Day with DH and his dad.

Remember a couple posts ago I had mentioned that I was having a stamping slump due to "manly" cards I needed to make?? I just couldn't get the mojo flowing and it put a slump on all my other card making cuz I was so focused on them. Well, here they are. There are 3 Father's Day cards and one birthday card.

This was the Father's Day card I made for my FIL. I used an Argyle notecard and cut it down to turn it into a briefcase. I used the SU Keytag punch to make the handle and a corner rounder. This was my first time using the new Mainly Men clear stamp set from A Muse. I also used the Fancy Borders Set to create the lines on the BG, I know some of the lines are crooked, I still need practice with those clear stamps, but I wasn't about to redo it after finally getting the handle right!! :D LOL! I used Palette Hybrid Burnt Umber ink on this card.

The next card was for my hubby!! :D Super DAD!!! :D I finally broke down and got the A Muse Superhero stamp! I'm not sure why I waited so long, he kinda looks like a Geeky Incredible!! :D He's fun and after inking him up, I like him even better now!! :D

This is a Double Pocket card made from this awesome tutorial! I liked it so much I made a few of them out of different SU Designer Series papers, just to have on hand and stamp on and embellish whenever the mood feels right! Here's a top view so you can see the pockets with the tags inside. I turned one into a bookmark and the other is just a tag that I wrote a little note on.

Here is a Double Pocket card for my FIL for his birthday, it was a little over a week ago, great timing, right before Father's Day. He LOVES to camp and is semi-retired, so he goes whenever he can!

Don't look too closely, I dropped the tree stamp in the bg while stamping them out, but again, I was lazy and didn't want to start over!! Ugghhh!! Hate it when that happens, LOL!! I'm just sticking to that it's supposed to be that way, to show there are trees in the distance that you can't really see too clearly!! :D All stamps used here are by A Muse, DS paper from SU.

And one more Double Pocket card, for my Step Dad. He grew up in Wyoming so I thought this Wanted set from SU would be perfect for him. He loved it.

I hope you're all having a great start to your week!! Summer's almost here!! :D

Blessings to you!

AMAP Mystery Hostess Layout Challenge

Hey! Happy Friday! It's supposed to be a beautiful weekend here for Father's Day! Thanks to the girls down South who sent up some sunshine!! :D

I've been in a "manly card" rut and haven't been keeping up with the A-muse-a-palooza challenges cuz I wanted to be sure and focus on Father's Day cards!! I finally got them done and decided to try out a couple of the challenges! I know it's late to enter for Geeta's AWESOME color challenge, but I still wanted to try it cuz it's SOOO beautiful!! I paired it up with Amy R's very cute Mystery Hostess Layout Challenge.

I killed 3 birds with one stone on this card! Both the challenges and my sweet DD is turning 7 next month and I'll be gone for her birthday, so I wanted to be sure and get a head start on a card so she feels special. This is the first time I've ever missed one of my kids' birthdays, but I'll be back the day after and we'll celebrate properly for sure!

Last Winter during one of Novell's wonderful A Muse classes, she showed us how to make these pretty little banner's on a card and I've wanted to use that trick ever since. Now was the perfect opportunity.

All stamps papers and twinkle stickers used on this card are from A Muse (except white CS), Inks by Palette Hybrid (Burnt Umber) and Copic Markers, Circle punches by Stampin' Up!

Thanks for reading my blog today! If you haven't tried any of the A-muse-a-palooza challenges yet, head on over and try them out!!

Blessings to you!

SU Emergency Card Kit

Hello!

Happy Monday to you! I had a fun weekend, did you? On Saturday I drove down South to visit my sister and pick up her cute little doggie to give to a friend of the family since she's not able to keep him and on Sunday we had a fundraiser car wash at our church to help support our Youth Mission trip to Nicaragua coming up next month! I can't believe there's less than a month to go until we leave!!! Eeekk!! It'll be an exciting adventure!

Last week I posted an Emergency Card Kit for the Amuseaddicts Step it Up challenge and had mentioned that I worked on a SU set too, here it is:

Sorry for the bad picture, I had a tough time figuring out how to get all the different cards and the envelope all in one picture and have it look decent.

This set is made with the Tart & Tangy SU stamp set and Summer Picnic DS papers. The one with the floral BG and Strawberry on the belly band (top left) is the envelope that holds the 5 cards in. The envelope is made using SU's 5 in 1 template, super easy to do!! :D All products used on these cards are by SU except scallop scissors on the top middle cherry card.

Thanks for visiting today!! I hope you have a fabulous week!

June SIU Challenge

Hey there!

Are you having a good week? Things are good here, busy, but that's nothing new! Do any of you have Summer weather yet? We had a teaser a couple weeks ago, but now it's just cold and drizzly. I'm ready for some sunshine for sure!! Send some my way if you've got some, please!! :D

Here's a project I made up for the A Muse Addicts Step it Up challenge this month. I got the idea from Jennie, she said she had seen an Emergency Card Kit at Target and thought it would be a fun project to work on. Then I was surfing around the internet and saw a fun Emergency Card Kit that was made at SU Regionals. So, I have a SU version to post soon too, but for now I'll just show this one for purposes of the Step it Up challenge. The challenge is simple, just make a card set (minimum of 5 cards) and some sort of pouch, pocket or container to hold them in. Possibilities are endless! The cards could have a theme, like birthdays or they could be general, any occasion cards or a mix of different types of cards.

I decided to make a pocket, like the Tag Pouch I made here. You can find many samples of these tag pouches on SCS, that's where I first came across them.

You use a 6x6 scrapbook page sleeve and trim the hole-punched side off, then adhere it to CS of choice, be sure to score where you want the flap to be before you adhere the clear pocket. I adhered the flap to the front with velcro dots I found at my local $ store.

I included 6 cards in the pocket to have on hand when I need a card quick and don't have time to stamp. These would make wonderful gifts for all occasions too!

Here are the cards I put inside. 2 different styles, 3 different colors of each style.

I was inspired by some mugs I found at Starbucks a couple weeks ago.

Thanks for stopping by today!

All Stamps, papers and ribbon are from A Muse except for some SU Chocolate Chip, Pretty in Pink and plain white CS. Palette Hybrid Burnt Umber ink, SU Whisper White ink, Copic Markers, MS scallop border punch, SU Slit punch and Vintage Brads also used. 6x6 scrap page sleeve from SU.
